90 Days

...and counting. On October 1, I started into a read-the-Bible-in-a-year reading plan published in a journal I was given. I'm absolutely loving it!

Yesterday marked Day 90. I'm almost a quarter of the way through the year; I guess that means I'm also about a quarter of the way through the Bible. I've read Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, all but three chapters in Deuteronomy, Matthew, Mark, 45 Psalms, and the first few chapters in Luke. I'm absolutely loving it!

There have been a few times when I missed one or more chapters on the prescribed list for the day; however, I have not skipped any of the readings. I just catch up as soon as I can. I'm absolutely loving it!

They say it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. Six to eight weeks to get a new magazine subscription. 365 days to repeat the same date (except for that pesky leap year thing). So what can be done in 90 days? Probably just about anything you set your mind to. So as we gear up for making goals for 2011 (I resolved to stop making resolutions years ago!), consider giving yourself a 90-day challenge.

It can be anything. Try walking for fifteen minutes each day (get off the treadmill for this one), talking to a different person in your contacts list each day (I bet you have at least 90), visiting my blog each day (  =)  ), or reading a Psalm a day (you might actually get to 150). Set little daily goals for yourself (write them down!) and then pull a Nike (just do it!). 90 days of commitment to something. I'm sure you'll absolutely love it!

If you want, share your personal goals and challenges here. I'd love to hear your stories too (I like parentheses!).

Hey, I am checking this blog using the phone and this appears to be kind of odd. Thought you'd wish to know. This is a great write-up nevertheless, did not mess that up.

Thanks for the info, David. I haven't thought of optimizing this blog for mobile devices. I'll look into it.

David, et al,

I finally found what you're talking about and enabled it. Let me know what you think of the mobile version.

Thanks again for the suggestion!
