Tonight, Aidan surprised Marissa and me by asking for his bath. It wasn't exactly right but based on where he was standing and pointing and the action he was doing, we got the idea. I have a feeling he associates the sign with swimming as well as bathtime because after I bathed him, he wanted to play in the water a really long time.
You should have seen his face when I opened the bathroom door and began filling the tub. He lit up like a lightbulb! He knew he'd gotten his thoughts across to me. And I knew it too: he immediately tried to climb in the tub without first letting me undress him.
It's so much fun communicating with him. I can't wait until he can sign (and I can interpret) his thoughts on life, the universe, and everything.

We are teaching Blake to sign using the same product plus a Baby signs book we bought when Bailey was a baby. She did very well with signing and is now the family expert. Blake can sign for a drink, for more of something, all gone or no more, but that's about all right now. He finds it too easy to make his wishes known by pointing and saying, "Uhhh, uhhh!" in a loud insistent voice!
